Kelly Rowland is doing more than talking a g good game she is running the game on her forthcoming album, “Talk A Good Game.” As the June 18th release date for her highly anticipated solo album draws near, Kelly consistently releases tracks that are certified hits. After performing “Gone,” with Wiz Khalifa on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Monday night, Kelly drops her street anthem “Street Life,” featuring Pusha T and produced by Pharell Williams.
“Street Life,” may be the fifth single hit from Kelly’s “Talk A Good Game,” the up tempo summer anthem, features a traditional Pharell inspired dance beat infused with drums, horns, and Kelly’s sultry voice. Kelly sings about growing up in the hood, and living in a recession. The bold and brazen lyrics align with Kelly’s honest and open theme for “Talk A Good Game.”
The “Dirty Laundry” crooner sings about the reality of people trying to make money and survive "and get to the money." Ms. Rowland even sings “Tell Obama about the street life.” Pusha T on a Pharell beat is like Jay-Z on a Kanye track, effortless, hard hitting, and captivating. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper only adds to the smooth track, with his punch lines adding the street element to the urban dance anthem.
