Last week actors Hugh Jackman and Tom Cruise were among a handful of celebrity guests that took part in Wal-Mart's shareholders meeting ceremony. The Hollywood stars shared a hug on stage before Cruise gave a speech where he called the company a "role model" of an institution that "improves women's lives." Clearly his speech has drawn some attention since, but Cruise was too busy with his 7-year-old daughter Suri to pay attention to any negative press.
The 50-year-old superstar picked up his daughter - whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes - with a private jet so that the two could spend some quality time together on The Greenbrier, a private resort in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
Tom and Suri were spotted taking numerous strolls during their time at the resort but did not dine out since the Mission: Impossible star enjoys cooking for his daughter. They were spotted enjoying some sweets in the ice cream shop of the main building, though.
Suri lives with her mother, Holmes, in New York but Tom regularly uses his private plane to see Suri or to pick her up. His daughter also has access to the jet -which is stationed in New York- whenever she wants.
During most of his interviews, Cruise gushes about his daughter. Clearly he enjoyed his time with his daughter and got his mind off of some negative press he received after his Wal-Mart speech.
"I've wanted to come here for quite some time, actually, because the culture you have here is like no other," he said to the shareholders. "I truly admire your company. [It's] a role model for how business can address some of the biggest issues facing our world."
