Taylor Swift is known for how open and revealing her songs are, especially on her latest album Red, but now that she performs to packed stadiums many feel that connecting with her fans might be difficult considering the size of her shows. The 23-year-old begs to differ, though. In a recent interview, the "I Knew You Were Trouble" songstress explained how the size of the venue might change how she performs but she still feels that she is connecting with her fans.

"I find that you have to emote a little bigger, but you can reach all the way up to the top," she said. "Eye contact is important, even if it's from 500 yards away."

Her "Red Tour" has been doing extremely well and she is currently on the North American leg of it. Swift explained how she does not worry about losing that connection with fans during the large stadium shows.

"Everyone who comes to these shows seems so engaged," she said. "They come to the show. They know the words. I'm singing the words. We're singing them at the same time, and therein lies the connection. It goes beyond what size the venue is."

Recently, Taylor was honored as Fragrance Celebrity of the Year at the Fragrance Awards this past Wednesday night at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York.

"Getting this award is such an honor," she said before the event.

Taylor also revealed recently that she is "getting ready" to start writing her new record.

"I love to write music. And I love to put an album together and take two years to do it and put everything I have into it. (Except) if there was something, some script that came along that was so enticing that I couldn't walk away from it, that I became obsessed with that the way I obsess over music," she explained. "If you see me commit to a film, it's only because I couldn't focus on anything else."
