Ivanka Trump, the daughter of reality television star and real estate magnate Donald Trump, took some time to discuss her approach to parenthood with US News. Trump has a two year-old daughter Arabella and is expecting her third child in the fall.
The main lesson being taught at Ivanka's home is apparently being unselfish.
"The one thing I won't tolerate is her being spoiled or bratty or having poor manners," Trump said in her interview. "That's one area in which I'll be very strict."
At the moment, impressing those values upon her daughter involves learning the concept of sharing.
"We're navigating the sharing thing right now. I think we're, like, 70 percent of the way there," she said with a laugh. She noted that Arabella grasped the concept pretty well, but was less likely to apply it when food was involved. Trump credited her mother Ivana and her strict guidelines for Ivanka's current worldview.
She may believe in strict guidelines but that doesn't mean Trump doesn't share the more fun parts of her life with her daughter. She claims the girl has already taken an interest in fashion and enjoys walking in her mother's (heeled) shoes.
Learning to avoid excess (and money management) could go a long way in the Trump household. Although Donald Trump is currently valued at $3.2 billion dollars, the businessman's Trump Entertainment Resorts filed for bankruptcy in 2009.
Ivanka currently stars alongside her father on NBC's "The Apprentice."
