Cher has had quite the busy week. After debuting "Woman's World" on The Voice, she sat down with Billboard to talk about her new album, which will be titled Closer To The Truth.
She says that the single she debuted on the The Voice was the jump-off point for the whole album.
"Then Pink gave me a beautiful song," Cher told the magazine . "Then Mark (Taylor), the man who produced the 'Believe' album, came up with four great songs. There was a beautiful country song and a song a friend of mine and I wrote for Interview with a Vampire that got turned down."
(Sometimes you forget how long Cher's been at it. Then you see she was already at "throw songs at movie soundtracks for the hell of it" by the time Interview With A Vampire came out.)
"It's very eclectic, you know. The songs are good songs that just happen to be together."
As we reported, Cher announced her new album on Twitter (which she is just a pro at) and we should expect it in the fall. Those of us picking it up should expect Cher to be a bit adventurous.
"I did a couple things on this album, ventured into places that I haven't gone and I really enjoyed that," she told Billboard. "I took some chances on this album and when it turned out to be good, I was pleased."
