Hip-hop mourns a fallen teenage newcomer with the death of Meek Mill's protégé Louisiana rapper Lil Snupe. Meek Mill took to social media June 20 to express his feelings about Snupes untimely death; now text messages between the "Levels" rapper and his young apprentice have surfaced.
According to initial reports Lil Snupe was allegedly gunned down, however, there are no concrete details as of now, his manager sent out a tweet confirming his death, XXL reported.
Snupe was 18-years-old at the time of his death. According to Meek Mills Snupe was trying to pursue a rap career to avoid succumbing to the temptations of street life.
Snupe was elated to be signed by Meek, as he was looking for his big break and the moment that would change his life. Meek offered Snupe a chance to show his skills to the world on the Maybach Music Group forthcoming collaboration Self Made 3, unfortunately Snupe passed before the mixtape will be released later this year.
Meek Mill first met the late spitter on a tour stop in Louisiana, according to This Is 50.
"He was in a van, they was finna pull off. And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me," Snupe told MTV News in April.
