Tupac Shakur died on September 13, 1996, just a few days after being shot at a boxing event in Las Vegas, Nevada. He rose to fame as a celebrated rapper and a riveting actor, but his life was cut short at the young age of 25 years old.  His legacy lives on through his music and he was a main influence on countless rappers that have come up since his passing. A lot of controversy surrounds his death and he has even managed to resurface for performances in recent years as a hologram. The latest way for fans to relive the talents of Shakur is through a new musical that is in development and that hopes to make it to Broadway. "Holler If Ya Hear Me" will reportedly be premiering in the 2013 to 2014 season on Broadway.

Specific dates have yet to be confirmed for this developing project but producers are reportedly aiming to premiere the show during this upcoming Broadway season.

Here are some of the details around "Holler If Ya Here Me" thanks to The Hollywood Reporter:

"A non-biographical original story, the show is set in the present day, on the inner-city streets of a Midwestern industrial city, chronicling the challenges faced by two childhood friends and their extended families. The story is inspired by and unfolds to the music of Shakur, the influential rapper who died in 1996 and has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide."

This musical will be choreographed by Wayne Cilento ("Wicked") and include music supervision by Daryl Waters "Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk").
