Hillsong Live released a new post on their 'Hillsong Collected' blog in which they explained the inspiration for the album are of their new album, 'Glorious Ruins.'

Jay Argaet, Art Director of Hillsong Church, explained the inspirational journey that ultimately resulted in the new album artwork.  He reflected on a quote about the new album by Senior Pastor Brian Houston saying, "Ruins can speak of crushing defeat or perhaps of something abandoned, but the good news today is that the ruins come to life. ... Through Jesus Christ what we look at is ruins that become glorious..."

Argaet began his journey by looking to juxtapose contrasting images that embody both the terms 'Glorious' and 'Ruins.'  This idea led to over 60 cover ideas that he deemed as 'not good enough' and that left him feeling ruined himself in the creativity department.

A new game-changing inspiration, a 'God-drop,' came along, however, in which Argaet decided that the most important aspect of the album title is not so much the ruins themselves, but rather a focus on celebrating the idea that, through Christ, these "ruins come to life."

He decided on a celebration through color and came upon an interesting idea while doing research online- 'Day Time' fireworks.  These fireworks are designed as colored smoke rather than explosions of light and leave a kind of ethereal trial of color, like little smoke streamers, in the sky.

This new album art emphasizes the importance of the glorious renewal rather than simply focusing on the ruins.  In Christ, the ruins don't really matter any, it is the new glorious purpose that the ruins have that is truly important and ultimately inspiring.

"I guess the moral of this story is don't GIVE UP - literally there were a few times we could've sacrificed and used a concert that was good, but oh how much GRANDER and GREATER is refining until the 'God-drop,'" Argaet wrote.

Hillsong Live's new album, 'Glorious Ruins,' is set to release on July 2.
