Chris Brown is having a bad week with the law. Although the R&B star is making headlines for potential assault charges against a female fan, Brown also received papers today from the Los Angeles Police Department, accusing him of hit-and-run.
Brown was involved in a minor accident during May, where Brown rear-ended a Mercedes. Although Brown did stop after the incident, reports indicate that he re refused to turn over his driver's license and exchanged false insurance information. As he left the scene without properly displaying both sets of information, he's eligible for the hit-and-run charge. He was also charged with driving without a proper license. Both crimes are punishable for up to six-months in jail.
The news only gets worse for Brown. The City Attorney will turn the case over to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for review to see if the incident counts as a violation of Brown's probation following his notorious assault on Rihanna. If it's decided that he violated his probation, the vocalist could be looking at up to four years in prison.
Fan Deanna Gines told police this week that Brown shoved her following a concert in California. She claimed that her injuries, including a torn ligament in her right knee that will require surgery. Brown has responded that he wasn't involved in the incident, but things aren't looking good for the R&B artist. People aren't too keen to get over the 2009 incident where he reportedly punched Rihanna in the face, even if the songstress has.
UPDATE: Brown has stated on his Twitter accouunt that he denies all of the information regarding the incident in his vehicle. He claims the other drive contacted the police after she saw the paparazzi, AND after Brown gave her the proper information.
