Alonzo Mateo [PHOTOS]: 5-Year-Old Instagram Fashion Icon is Cooler Than You

We certainly are not strangers to celebrity children who seem to have a fashion sense or are at least dressed well by professionals. So when a picture 5-year-old Alonzo Mateo in another fashionable look comes up, one would assume he has some fame attached to his name. But you would be wrong; the young style icon's parents are not celebrities. His mother, Luisa Fernanda Espinosa, is a freelance stylist and his father is a CEO of a private equity firm. In a short time, Alonzo has become a hit on the popular photo-sharing app Instagram and countless men have been taking fashion queues from the little model.

What stands out the most about Alonzo is that he is definitely posing for these shots that are posted on his mother's Instagram account. The private account has over 130,000 followers with plenty more to come. There are around 230,000 photographs of Alonzo catalogued in Google Image searches, which is more than the celebrity children mentioned beforehand.

Last year, Ugo Mozie, a stylist who has worked with Chris Brown, Beyoncé, and Kelly Rowland, Tweeted a photo of Alonzo. In his Twitter post he called the young boy a "fashion icon," and he was definitely right.

"What first caught my eye about him was his confidence," Mozie explained after asked about Alonzo in a recent interview. "His clothes were exceptionally tailored, drop-crotch pants, his hand in his pocket - that stood out to me." 

"I love suits, sneakers, and sunglasses," the stylish boy told the Cut during a recent phone conversation. "I like to dress like my dad, because he has cool suits."

His mother Luisa does the shopping for her stylish son, so there should definitely be some credit thrown her way. Though of shopping for Alonzo she says, "As long as it's nice quality, I'll take it."

"I'll say that's a summer tee and we're in winter," she said. "I'll help him coordinate outfits so that they make sense, but mostly it's him."
