UFC women's fighter Ronda Rousey seems to be the next big female MMA star. The current UFC Bantamweight women's champion, Rousey is 7-0 and has held the title since November 2012. Rousey is also the newest coach for UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter." Season 18 of the show has finished taping and is set to debut in September on Fox Sports 1. It is also the first ever co-ed "The Ultimate Fighter." Rousey has been garnering as much media attention as any other UFC star and now comes the question, who will be her opponent in her next fight?
Rousey just recently came out and admitted that coaching on "The Ultimate Fighter" has been emotionally taxing. "It's a lot more work than I thought it would be, and it's a lot more emotionally taxing than I thought it would be," Rousey admitted during a sponsored Facebook chat. "You care a lot about these kids. I just felt like any kind of heartbreak or triumph, whatever they're going through, I share in it. It's exhausting going through that over and over and over with every competitor. You're just so emotionally invested in every person that it really takes a lot out of you."
Rousey was originally supposed to coach against Cat Zingano, but according to Yahoo! Sports, she was forced off the show with a knee injury. Now Rousey is coaching against her rival Miesha Tate, who she defeated via submission back in March of 2012. "Miesha and Ronda hate each other," UFC head honcho Dana White recently said. "It's like literally crazy drama every day."
It will be interesting to see if Tate, or anyone, can present a challenge to Rousey. Known as "Rowdy," Rousey is the consensus pound-for-pound best female MMA fighter in the world.
