Pearl Jam may have just officially announced its first new music in four years.
The Seattle-based rock band posted a Vine video to its official Twitter page on Monday afternoon with a simple caption that reads, "The countdown is on..." with the hashtag #PearlJam2013.
The clock in the video will hit 000:00:00:00 on Monday, July 8 at 1 p.m. EDT.
Mstars previously reported that Pearl Jam was in the process of crafting their 10th studio album. A report on Loudwire.com stated that the band could release the first single from the yet-to-be-titled record on July 16.
Loudwire noted a posting on the site AllAccess.com, a music industry community website, that indicated the band would debut a track called "Mind Your Manners" on July 16. The post has since been removed but GrungeReport.net saw it before it came down.
But Pearl Jam's latest tweet seems to indicate that the single could come out earlier. Or, perhaps, the end of the countdown could just lead to an announcement about the single or the album in general (such as a title and/or track listing).
Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready told "The Bob and Groz Show" on KIRO Radio in Seattle in early May that the he has high expectations for the new album. He revealed that the band was in the mixing stage of the new record and that the five members were overdubbing the tracks.
