The first Hillsong Conference of 2013 will be taking place in this week from July 1- 5, at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia and will feature big name Christian musicians, Kari Jobe and Leeland. In addition, the conference will also feature guest appearances by Bishop T.D Jakes of The Potter's House, Joel & Victoria Osteen of Lakewood Church, Craig Groeschel of Lifechurch.tv, and Judah Smith of The City Church.
The Hillsong Conference operates based on the idea that, through individuals and their churches, God's Kingdom can be advanced across the earth and a revival can begin. Churches from all over the world are represented at these conferences and they all come together to unite in the body of Christ. The hope is that individuals and their churches will be impacted and inspired to make a difference in the world through the their experiences at the conference.
The conference hopes to inspire through music, activities and Biblical messages.
Featured musicians in Sydney are Kari Jobe, Leeland and, of course, the musicians from Hillsong Live. Kari Jobe is an international songwriter and worship leader as well as this year's winner of the first annual K-Love Fan Award for Female Artist of the Year. She has been leading worship for over 13 year and is an associate worship paster at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. Leeland is a progressive worship band that is passionate about experiencing both personal and collective revival through worship. FInally, Hillsong Live is a group of passionate worshippers from around the world who are united through Hillsong Church.
Inspirational guest speakers include, Bishop T.D Jakes, Joel & Victoria Osteen, Craig Groeschel and Judah Smith. T.D. Jakes is a senior pastor at The Potter's House, a global humanitarian organization as well as a Dallas, Texas, church that contains about 30,000 members. The Osteens are the Senior Pastors at Lakewood Church, Texas, a church that harbors one the largest and fastest growing congregations in the United States. The pair have also written a number of New York Times bestselling books. Groeschel is the founder and senior pastor of LifeChurch.tv, one of the first multi-campus churches, which holder over 70 weekend services in 15 different locations. Smith is the Lead Pastor of The City Church in Seattle, Washington, a church of about 7,000 with multiple campuses throughout the area. His modern form of ministry utilizes elements such as humor, authority, passion and steadfast faith.
Conference attendees must register to attend online, by e-mail or by post. Registration for the Sydney event is only available at the event itself during 4 days that the conference is going on. Registration costs $30 for children ages 1-3, $75 for children ages 3 to sixth grade, $99 for JAM students (Grades 7- 12), $299 for a single adult and $269 for an adult with a group.
Three other Hillsong Conferences are scheduled so far for the remainder of this year. The first will be held from July 24- 26 at the 02 Arena in London. The London Conference features guests Brian Houston and Bobbie Houston of Hillsong Church, Judash Smith of The City Church, Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio of of Passion City Church.
For the first time in Hillsong history, the Conference will also be coming to the United States to appear in New York City and Los Angeles. The first conference will take place from October 4- 5 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and the second from October 18- 19 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
