The Mirror, a British newspaper, has claimed to have received ten boxes of documents from the FBI regarding the Michael Jackson molestation trial, including the allegation that the pop star spent nearly $35 million dollars as hush money to the families of child abuse victims. We can't emphasize enough how this is, as of now, a rumor and not legally accepted fact.
The pages, case numbers CADCE MJ-02463 and CR 01046 according to The Mirror, were retrieved by the FBI from personal investigator Anthony Pellicano, whom Jackson had hired to investigate claims, and if you believe the story told by The Mirror, make sure the victims didn't talk about it. The FBI acquired the files during a raid on Pellicano's offices after he was accused of tapping the phones of several Hollywood residents such as Sylvester Stallone.
The findings indicate that nearly two-dozen families received payments. The only name that was given from the recipient list was Jordan Chandler, because his father had broken the silence agreement in 1993 and had gone to the press about the abuse his child underwent. The Chandler's received more than $19 million according to the reports. Another claim made in The Mirror's story is that a "high profile" child actor receiving nearly $600,000.
Jackson was acquitted on all counts during his 2005 trial for molestation. The issue has reared its head again as choreographer Wade Robson has filed a lawsuit against the Jackson family, alleging that he was also molested as a child. Robson was involved in the 2005 testimony and gave no indication that he was molested at that time.
The Jackson family is involved with their own lawsuit against AEG Live, whom they accuse of bringing about Michael's death by hiring Conrad Murray, the doctor who inadvertently caused the death by overprescribing sleep aid Propafol. He has since been convicted of manslaughter.
