Hillsong Live released their highly anticipated newest album, 'Glorious Ruins,' today, July 2, on iTunes, Amazon and elsewhere.
The new album features 12 live tracks including, 'Always Will,' 'You Never Fail,' 'Christ Is Enough,' 'Where The Spirit Of The Lord Is,' 'Glorious Ruins,' 'Closer,' 'God Who Saves,' 'To Be Like You,' 'Man Of Sorrows,' 'We Glorify Your Name,' 'You Crown THe Year (Psalm 65:11)' and 'Anchor.'
'Glorious Ruins' can also be purchased in Deluxe Edition, which includes additional live video footage, as well as a message from Hillsong's Senior pastor, Brian Houston.
The morning that the new album was released, Hillsong Live tweeted, "#GloriousRuins is now available! https://hil.so/gloriousruins We pray it is a blessing to you."
The new album echoes the idea that God can take us in our brokenness and make us into something beautiful. "Ruins can speak of crushing defeat or perhaps of something abandoned, but the good news today is that the ruins come to life. ...Through Jesus Christ what we look at is ruins that become glorious..," Houston said, according to the Hillsong Live website.
The new album proves to be a fun and encouraging way to praise God through music, with audience-friendly refrains and the ability to get engaged through rhythmic clapping. Active engagement in the music is something Hillsong Live has always been pretty passionate about. In a pre-release video concerning the new album, Jadin Gillies, a worship leader from Hillsong said, "I'll be honest, I want maximum involvement, I was maximum kind of response at that moment. I want people to understand that that was not a light a light thing and it's not something to be passed over, that, Hallelujah, God be praised, He is risen from the grave, Come on!"
And this feeling of engagement goes beyond live performance, being present in people's homes and cars as the listen to 'Glorious Ruins' and sing or clap along.
Popular tracks on the new album include title track, 'Glorious Ruins,' as well as their well-known single, 'Man of Sorrows.'
