Ever since the announcement of Star Wars: Episode VII and followed by the hiring of J.J. Abrams to direct this film due out in 2015, casting rumors have been coming in left and right. What's crazy about these rumors is that the actors themselves have started most of them! The original trilogy's stars - Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher - have all but been confirmed for the new film, but they are the ones updating us on this news. Even Samuel L. Jackson wants a part in the new movie, despite his character (Mace Windu) seemingly dying off in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It looks like another character that was killed off might come back, too. Well, at least the actor wants back in.

Actor Ray Park caught everyone's attention in The Phantom Menace as the incredibly evil looking Sith lord Darth Maul. The mutlicolored skin, the horns, the fangs, and not to mention the double-blade light saber definitely made for a menacing foe. Though we all know Obi Won Kenobi eventually defeated him at the climax of Episode I. So why is Ray Park trying to get back into the franchise?

"Just give me food and water, and I'm there," he said at the 2013 "Wizard World." Park also said that he wanted to return "with something a little bit spicy." He suggested Maul could have two double-bladed light sabers to really enhance the evil character. Park also said he would want to go shirtless to show off more of the character's Night brother Clan Tattoos. But didn't Maul die?

Just to get a bit nerdy on you guys: yes and no. He absolutely perished in the movies after being sliced in half by Ewan McGregor's Kenobi and then falling out of a ship. BUT in the "Star Wars Extended Universe" books, Maul survives and becomes a menacing cyborg. Do yourself a favor and look it up!

That said, however, producers of Episode VII have time and time again expressed how they do not want to use unoriginal material. In this case, they mean that the book series would not be source material.

But Park is a valuable actor these days. He portrays Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe films and has had many roles over the years as acrobatic characters. Whose to say J.J. won't reach out to him for another character?
