Anna Chapman, who made national headlines after it was revealed back in 2010 that she was a member of a Russian spy ring, made an unusual marriage proposal on Wednesday. According to the New York Post, the Russian spy who has become even more known for her racy photos in Maxim and Playboy magazines tweeted out a marriage proposal to NSA leaker Edward Snowden. The tweet came from Chapman's personal Twitter account and asked, "Snowden, will you marry me?"
Chapman is the daughter of a Russian diplomat who admitted to being a Russian spy. She was deported back to Russia for espionage, but as Fox News notes, she has become a celebrity over in Moscow working as a model.
The Twitter account from which the tweet came from is supposedly Chapman's account, but has very little activity. In fact, despite having nearly 15,000 followers, she has tweeted just 27 times, with three of them coming on July 3rd. In addition to her marriage proposal tweet on Wednesday, Chapman also tweeted, "@nsa will you look after our children?" and "@samengland on REN TV" when asked if she still had a TV show.
There have been plenty of reports regarding Chapman's relationship past. Chapman, whose original name was Anya Kushchenko, married Alex Chapman. The marriage was reportedly so Kushchenko could get a U.K. passport. They since divorced and Champan's sexual past became national news after she was revealed as a spy. It remains to be seen if Snowden would take a marriage proposal from Chapman seriously, but you never know as this ongoing drama continues to unfold.
