George Clooney, Stacy Kiebler Split: Break Up Occurs After Couple Spends Independence Day Apart

Brace yourself, ladies, George Clooney is back on the market. According to reports, the perrenial barchelor split from long-time girlfriend Stacy Kiebler after they spent Independence Day (July 4) apart.

An inside source told People: "It's not like George and Stacy couldn't find time to get together if they really wanted to. George is quietly backing away from the relationship."

"It's always the same. As soon as he feels a woman is getting too close he pulls back,"  the insider added.

It's worth noting that Clooney and Kiebler haven't been seen together in public in three months, and break-up rumors have swirled around the couple.

However, in spite of the fact that they spent the national holiday apart (as evidenced by these photos), neither George nor Stacy have confirmed a split.

And, for anyone holding out hope that Clooney-Kiebler is going strong, there is hope. Kiebler appears to have had a very good reason for not cavorting with Clooney.

A source told Radar Online that Kiebler was on a shoot in New York and in the midst of a press tour.
