After spending the Fourth of July weekend together, it seems as though Katy Perry and John Mayer are, indeed, back together. At his tour kickoff in Milwaukee on Saturday (July 6), the "Daughters" rocker dedicated a song to his "California Gurl." In a loving message to Perry, Mayer called the pop star his "face to call home" and talked about his she helped him during his recent vocal issues.
"I was just starting to get to know a girl and started to reconsider just how difficult everything was going to be as he [Mayer's doctor] put a needle in my neck because I was just getting to know this girl, and I wouldn't be able to talk to her. She was more incredible than I ever thought because she would order for me, she would whisper to the waiter. She would say, 'It's nice to meet you he says,' and did a lot of whispering," Mayer said.
He also described communication difficulties he and the "girl" had while he was up recovering in his Montana home, and how she was patient in waiting for him while the two could only communicate through dropped phone calls and photographs.
He then dedicated "A Face to Call Home" to "my Katy."

Perry and Mayer first restarted rumors that they were back together last week when they were spotted on dates around New York City. On July 4, Perry posted a photo to her Instagram of the two embracing while wearing patriotic clothing, further implying the couple are back on.
