The mysterious countdown clock on rock band Pearl Jam's website hit zero today, and the end of the timer revealed that new music from the "Black" band is on its way.
At 3 p.m., the Pearl Jam official Twitter account revealed the artwork to the band's new single "Mind Your Manners." The single is now available for digital download from the band's official website.

One minute later, the group tweeted "New @PearlJam music is officially here! #PearlJam2013," along with a link to their website announcing their tenth studio album Lightning Bolt. The record will be released on Oct. 15 but is available for pre-order now. Lightning Bolt is the first new album from Pearl Jam in four years and follows up 2009's Backspacer.
With the announcement of Lightning Bolt, the group also released a YouTube trailer for the new album. The band is shown in the studio for the recording process, while a thrashing guitar line from "Mind Your Manners" plays in the background.
The track is a hard, hitting fast-paced song from Pearl Jam, reminiscent of their heavier music. Lead singer Eddie Vedder's voice is more guttural than usual, and the whole production is quite masculine in sound. When the chorus hits, the rushed tempo continues, but Vedder backs off vocally, allowing for the chaotic drums and guitar to shine through.

Pearl Jam isn't the only grunge band to make news this week. Yesterday, it was announced that the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's third and final studio album In Utero will be marked with a deluxe edition, due out in September. Additionally, Seattle rockers Mudhoney are helping to celebrate label Sub Pop's Silver Jubilee by playing on top of the Space Needle.
