'How To Train Your Dragon 2' Trailer: Release Date Set for June 20, 2014 [VIDEO]

The first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel How To Train Your Dragon 2 has been released. The 2-minute clip shows protagonist Hiccup and his pet dragon Toothless soaring through the clouds and flying together. Hiccup tests out a new contraption on himself that allows him to fly alongside Toothless, not just ride him.

The promo doesn't give away any plot points for the new movie, except for the end when Hiccup lands and seems to have stumbled upon something eye-catching. Moreso, the promo shows off the gorgeous Dreamworks animation that helped propel How To Train Your Dragon to massive success. Misting water, fluffy clouds and smooth, seamless flying from the midnight black Toothless highlight the artistic imagery in the trailer.

According to Hypable, How To Train Your Dragon 2 takes place five years after the original film. Hiccup, Toothless and the village have all settled their differences and the pair are the best of friends. The duo have a mission to chart new territory and are led to an "ice cave that is home to hundreds of wild new dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider."

The original cast is all slated to return for the sequel. Jay Baruchel returns as Hiccup. Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Craig Ferguson and Gerard Butler are all back, according to iMDB.

The original film grossed over $217.5 million in the United States when it was released in 2010, according to iMDB.
