British boy band The Wanted teased their new single 2013 last night during an episode of their reality show The Wanted Life. A minute long snippet has been released of "We Own The Night."
The song is an upbeat, light party anthem, lyrically similar to their other singles "Glad You Came" and "Chasing the Sun." "When my time is over, / Lying in my grave, / Written on my tombstone, / I want it so say, / 'This man was a legend, a legend of his time, / When he was at a party, the party never died,'" the members trade off singing in the previewed verse.
The chorus then goes on to discuss how The Wanted are only young if they own the night, so it's something that must be done tonight.
Though the words are sentiments fans have heard from The Wanted before, "We Own The Night" is noticeably lighter musically for the "Walks Like Rihanna" band, whose previous party singles have had more intense beats and stronger instrumentation.

"We Own The Night" is reportedly off of The Wanted's new album 2013, and is the second single from the release after "Walks Like Rihanna."
In an interview with MTV, The Wanted's manager Scooter Braun praised the track's fun time message. "It is an anthem for anyone who ever had a drink and a good time. It's a perfect Wanted song, but it's like them. It's a little British to it. It's a little bit of everybody at the bar will be singing this at the top of their lungs," he said.
"We Own The Night" will reportedly be out early next month.
