Jigga what? It may come as a suprise to US hip-hop heads but Jay-Z has never had a number one album in the UK (compare to the 13 he's had in the States). At least, that used to be true. HOV's much-derided Magna Carta Holy Grail just netted Mr. Carter his first number one across the pond.
Jay-Z this weekend recorded his first-ever number one album in the U.K. as his new release "Magna Carta Holy Grail" ousted Mumford & Sons' "Babel" from the top spot.
The Official Charts Company, which compiles the British charts, said the album featuring 13 tracks outsold Rod Stewart's "Time" and Passenger's "All The Little Lights" for the latest weekly period. It didn't detail how many copies each sold.
Prior to this Jay-Z's top-selling album in the UK made it to number 4. That album? The Blueprint III (ugh.)
What do you think of Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail reaching number 1?
