21-time WWE world champion Rick Flair (real name Richard Fliehr) has garnered a warrant for his arrest after failing to pay spousal support to his estranged wife, Jacqueline Beems. The eccentric professional wrestler was ordered to pay Beems $4,000 a month after she filed for legal speration last summer. Flair owes over $32,000 in alimony now and after two court orders to pay has been hit with an arrest warrant from a Charlotte judge.
"The reason I didn't pay my ex-wife the 32 grand is because my son died and I was in the hospital for a month," Flair told the Charlotte Observer. "I was in the hospital for a month with a blood clot. I didn't go to work for three months."
Rick can avoid jail time if he pays the $32,352.51 of spousal support that he owes, according to court documents and Beems' attorney Brad Smith.
Smith recently revealed that Beems, who has been married to Flair for about 3 years, does not know the wrestler's whereabouts at this time.
The quarrelling couple were married in November of 2009 and separated in June 2012, with Beems accusing her wrestler husband of committing "acts of marital misconduct."
"Husband has had numerous intimate relationships with other women during the parties' marriage to the embarrassment and humiliation of wife," the complaint stated. Rick Flair has denied these allegations.
Flair recently accused Beems of sending threatening phone calls and text messages to his current girlfriend, Wendy Kidder.
"My girlfriend Wendy Kidder is the mother of four and she has 50 texts and five phone (voice-)mails from my ex-wife," he said. "They didn't give Wendy a warrant for arrest without looking at all of that stuff."
Beems was arrested and posted a $500 bail on Monday of this week for these accusations.
Beems' attorney said that these recent accusations concerning the harassing phone calls to Flair's new girlfriend are "unfounded and outlandish."
"Miss Fliehr is eager to have her day in court on this as well," Smith said.
Flair suffered the loss of his son Reid earlier this year when his body was found after an apparent overdose. Reid Fliehr was 25 years old.
