Will Kate have a boy or girl? What will Prince William and Duchess Kate name their child? Most importantly, why is it taking so long for the future heir to be born? With all of the guessing surrounding when Kate Middleton's due date is, some of us have written off the dates that have past as incorrect but could the Duchess simply be overdue? A source close to Kate's mother Carole said that the grandmother-to-be revealed the soon-to-arrive child would be a Leo, but this has not been confirmed. And now a Palace aide is claiming that another report about Today, July 19, being the royal due date is "not true." So what else did this aide reveal?
"Kate's due date has passed," the aide said to Us Weekly. So the earlier reports around Kate's due date being July 13 were most likely correct according to this news. So why did Kate travel 50 miles away from St. Mary's hospital, where she is reportedly supposed to deliver her child, on her alleged due date?
We know that Kate and William's Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace doesn't have air conditioning so she went to her parents' home in Bucklebury to escape the heat, but on her due date? This doesn't really add up, but perhaps doctors told her that she would be overdue and that she did not have to worry about going into labor over the weekend. Plus, 50 miles isn't that far especially when an emergency helicopter is standing by.
The palace staff is "on call every day and night in July for this," according to a palace insider. "There is nothing left to prepare or plan for."
Meanwhile, it looks like Wills is wife his wife at his in-laws' home, too, according to a spokesperson for the Royal Air Force.
"William is not on paternity leave yet but he has had to take time off work now," the RAF spokesperson said. "He did double shifts the week before he returned to London. We're all on the edge of our seats for news. I thought the baby would be born by now!"
