With the success of Hunger Games, Hollywood has been trying to find the next blockbuster Young Adult franchise to take over the hearts of viewers and Divergent might be just that. Hitting theaters on March 21, 2014, the cast and crew of Divergent, based on the novels by Veronica Roth, have taken over Comic Con 2013 today with exclusive footage, updates and interviews.

Divergent is set in the future in a dystopian Chicago. The city is a walled-in, ruined and the population is divided into five separate factions devoting themselves to personality traits that include bravery, intelligence and selflessness. Shailene Woodley (who was recently cast and then cut out of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Mary-Jane Watson) plays central character Tris who leaves her selfless faction for the bravery faction. Theo James portrays her mentor, Four, who develops into a lover.

"We just finished shooting two days ago, on Tuesday morning, so it's all very, very fresh for us right now," director Neil Burger told the San Diego crowd.

Theo James said, "We really worked our asses off to make something that I think you'll all really be proud of. It's a really special movie and it has a really iconic look to it."

"I think all of us are extremely brave and extremely courageous, but I don't think that we're necessarily put in situations where we're forced to call upon our bravery," Woodley said of the general theme of her character.

"What I love about Tris is that she was in that situation and she rose to the occasion." James added of Four, "I think he's a man with a very centered sense of masculinity and he's not afraid to demonstrate what he's afraid of. It's not about being fearless, it's about how you deal with things that are scary."

Also, award-winning actress Kate Winslet portrays the film's antagonist, Jeanine Matthews. The actress recently revealed that she enjoyed being the villain.

"That's the whole point of Jeanine," Winslet said. "She walks down the corridor and sort of just leaves this vapor trail. I knew I had to bring that intimidation. I'm no idiot. The idea went through my head that I have never played a baddie before. I was almost kind of surprised."
