Though Mstars reported that Beyoncé's new album 2013 has experienced multiple delays earlier today, via The Hollywood Reporter, representatives for the "Grown Woman" singer have now told The Huffington Post that an album delay is simply not the case.
THR quoted a source saying that the album was originally due out in spring of this year and now is facing delays for its fall release. However, Bey's people claim that a release date for the follow-up to 2011's 4 was never set.
Despite Beyoncé being on the massive Mrs. Carter World Tour, the singer has barely released any new material. "Grown Woman," which has leaked in full, appears in a Pepsi commercial and the often-performed "Standing on the Sun" has been used in a variety of marketing campaigns, including H&M. That song, too, has allegedly leaked.
Beyoncé's publicist did not, however, deny that the singer has scrapped over 50 songs, including numbers penned by The-Dream, Sia, Ryan Tedder, Diane Warren, Ne-Yo and Diplo.
The last two producers have spoken out about Beyoncé's new album and how the songstress has rejected dozens of songs. "I think she scrapped he record. The record was supposed to be done, and they have been hitting me up for brand new ideas," said Diplo.
Meanwhile, Ne-Yo told Billboard Beyoncé and her people are "still trying to figure out what they want [the album] to be."
Has the album been delayed and scrapped? When will Beyoncé's fifth studio album be released? Who do fans believe: producers Diplo, Ne-Yo and The Hollywood Reporter or Beyoncé's represtentatives? Sound off on the comments!
