Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 44th birthday on July 24 - and boyfriend Casper Smart treated the b-day girl VERY well! The 26-year-old dancer purchased some vintage jewelry from L.A.'s popular Platt Boutique - including a 1940s gold and diamond ring! Hmm... is the "Live it Up" beauty and her boy-toy now engaged? Both stars heatedly deny such wedding rumors, but the Hollywood couple does seem very happy! On J.Lo's birthday, Smart tweeted, "#HAPPYBIRTHDAY to my very very #BeautifulBear the nicest, sweetest, funniest, sexiest bear there is!!!! Love u xooxo." How cute!
When Lopez turned the big 4-4, her younger boyfriend posted this sweet b-day shout-out on Twitter:
@BEAUcasperSMART: "#HAPPYBIRTHDAY to my very very #BeautifulBear the nicest, sweetest, funniest, sexiest bear there is!!!! Love u xooxo @JLo."
And Smart was on a mission to give Lopez an extra-special gift. He knew she loved jewelry, so asked for help from J.Lo's longtime stylists, Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi. They pointed him towards Larry Platt's Boutique.
"He told me he had bought her jewelry before, but never vintage," Platt recently told People. "So he wanted to go in a different direction, something one-of-a-kind."
Platt continues, "He has a very good eye and knew what he wanted. He was looking for vintage pieces that had a chic, modern feel to them. He told me that there are only two pieces of jewelry that Jennifer wears on a daily basis, so he wanted to pick pieces that he felt she would wear all the time and could go with everything... He appreciated the fact that pieces were beautifully made, from a different era and were completely unique."
Smart ended up choosing a 1970s yellow-gold and diamond chain link bracelet and a 1940s gold and diamond ring, both with a coordinating buckle motif. And apparently Lopez loves them.
But allegedly, the gift was NOT an engagement ring. Just some beautiful (pricey) bling for the b-day girl. Check out a photo of the ring here... definitely not a flashy diamond rock that symbolizes marriage.
The couple's been dating since J.Lo broke things off with Marc Anthony back in 2011... and they seem totally thrilled to be "in love." Maybe a future wedding isn't totally out-of-the-question...
