Earlier today, we reported that Katy Perry would be releasing a new album, a follow-up to Teenage Dream titled Prism. We also said a new single was on the way. According to Idolator, the first single off Prism will be called "Roar."
Via Idolator:
The best thing about this? Katy Perry's first two fragrances were called "Purr" and "Meow!" so her affinity for the feline onomatopoeic is well-established; calling a single "Roar" fits in perfectly with both of those trends. Since Bonnie McKee also said that this was a more "grown-up" Katy, a song that quite literally transitions her from a cat into a lioness is nothing short of genius.
The album will be produced by the Perry's cabal of producers who hide away their formula for perfectly crafted pop songs in a bunker with the KFC recipe and Walt Disney's frozen head. Namely, Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee and Max Martin.
To add weight to the theory that Perry's first single will be titled "Roar," here's Dr. Luke tweeting about it (sort of).
and the new song starts with an "R" ....
