Amanda Bynes' doctors confirmed to the judge that she is suffering for schizophrenia.
According to RadarOnline, sources admitted that the 27-year-old on involuntary psychiatric hold informed the judge of the actress' condition saying, "Amanda's doctors and a social worker told the judge that Amanda is being treated for schizophrenia," a source continued, "Although a formal diagnosis will be finalized in the next several days, it's almost certainly schizophrenia. Reports that said she was responding well to the psychiatric drugs that were being given to her are wrong. It can take months, or even years to get someone like Amanda to find the right drug combination and then get her therapeutic."
Fortunately for the "All About You" actress the source claims that she will be treated and her illness isn't life threatening, "The good news is that schizophrenia is treatable. It's a very serious diagnosis, but Amanda can live a long and healthy life, as long as she takes her prescribed medications. She can function in society and still work."

Amanda Bynes' schizophrenia has stabilized due to better medication. According to TMZ, the "All About You" actress has been on-and-off with her disruptive behavior while Psychiatric hold, but doctors have finally found a medication that helped the actress calm down and refrain from using violence.
According to TMZ, a source says that people shouldn't jump the gun and assume that she's cured, "(There have been) no real changes in the situation yet. Meds take more than a week."
Bynes will appear in front of a judge at the Hillmont Psychiatric Center in Ventura County where she will appeal her involuntary hospitalization. The source says, "It's not likely she will be released."
The former Nickelodeon star was hauled off to Hillmont last week after she started a gasoline fire in a stranger's driveway around the corner from her parents' house in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
The actress' mother, Lynn Bynes, has been on speaking terms with her daughter and still seeks conservatorship to have control over her financial and personal affairs before she has another meltdown.

Amanda Bynes is accusing her parents of being "overprotective" and for "telling her what to do and pushing her into acting, a career she never wanted."
The actress' mother failed in her attempt to get temporary conservatorship last Friday and Amanda Bynes is happy they didn't!
According to RadarOnline, Amanda's friend, Ana Rivera says the actress "was frustrated, as they wanted her to act and she didn't want to do it any more," Ana says. "Amanda said the only movie she herself liked that she was in was Hairspray. She didn't get any enjoyment out of acting."
The "All About You" actress retired from acting in 2010 and moved to NYC after running in trouble with the law in LA, "She really wanted to do fashion and had some pieces of fabric and was trying to make clothes," Ana explained.
Amanda was actually taking fashion career seriously and even showed her parents her designs, "[Amanda] sent pictures of the dress she was working on to her mom, who didn't have anything to say about it, which was really frustrating," she said.
Ana added, "She said she'd never been close to her family," Ana claims. "She was jealous of her sister, Jill, and the praise she got from her parents, as she was a teacher and had two kids and a great marriage. It felt like a real sibling rivalry and everything Amanda secretly wanted."
"She also didn't get on with her dad," Ana continued. "She said he was too overprotective. They tried to get in contact, but Amanda would get mad at them for sending texts, even though they said 'Amanda, we love you. Please get in contact.' She felt like they were telling her what to do. It would always end badly, as she wouldn't hear what she wanted."
Should Amanda consider letting her parents control her life?
