'American Idol' Season 13 Judges Rumors: Keith Urban Returning, Will.i.am and Jennifer Lopez on Three Person Panel?

American Idol season 13 rumors are already heating up regarding who will be the new judges. Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and Mariah Carey have already confirmed they are not returning after a disappointing ratings season 12. The latest news is that Keith Urban will be returning as a judge on season 13, but who will be joining him? Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson are the most recently hotly rumored names to be on FOX's hit reality singing show.

HollywoodTake.com reports that FOX entertainment chief Kevin Reilly confirmed that Urban will be returning for season 13. Reilly described Urban as a "funny guy" who "fans really liked." Reilly also explained that season 13 will be focus more on the contestants, rather than the judges. "It really became too much about the judges," Reilly said. "We want some comfortable judges to make it comfortable to view." This is an obvious comment about the feud between Carey and Minaj, whose feud was documented throughout season 12.

A FOX source, according to HollywoodTake, says that negotiations with Hudson and Clarkson are "95-percent there." This makes it likely that it's only a matter of time before Hudson and Clarkson join Urban on the judging panel. Reilly also commented on the Jennifer Lopez rumors saying, "there have been discussions, but there is no deal."

According to HollywoodTake, American Idol will be going back to its three-judge format for next season. If this is true, then only two of Hudson, Clarkson, and Lopez would be brought on. However, it sounds like all three are in negotiations with FOX. Other former "Idol" contestants, Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert, have also been rumored.

Brad Bessey of omgInsider tweeted, "Brace yourselves my @adamlambert friends. I just heard from a VERY INSIDE source @AmericanIdol judges: @JLo @KeithUrban & @iamwill @FOXTV."
