Summer's coming to an end - and STILL Eminem has yet to release any details surrounding his new 2013 album. Rumors now suggest Em will release his highly-anticipated eighth studio record sometime around Labor Day (September 2) - but again, this remains unconfirmed hearsay. Meanwhile, Slim Shady's set to perform a slew of concerts in Europe over the next few weeks (and perhaps even a "surprise" secret performance in NYC on August 7?). While the "Not Afraid" rapper is busy working on his upcoming album, he's also trying to use his renown fame to create some new jobs in his native city of Detroit. But according to former D12 bandmate Obie Trice, it still might be awhile until the heart of Michigan gets back up on it's feet... read on for more deets.
Twitter's currently abuzz with Eminem's new album release date "rumors" - fans are strongly hoping for the record to drop sometime in September:

By the way... were fans wondering why Shady turned down the lead role for director Neil Blomkamp's upcoming SciFi thriller "Elysium?"

Because Blomkamp wouldn't agree to film in Detroit... and supposedly Em wants to use his celebrity status to help get the city up-and-running again.
According to rapper Obie Trice in a recent interview with Vlad TV: "I guess he was trying to bring job opportunities to Detroit but a lot of those movie companies bring they're own crew from L.A. anyway... I'm sure there's people that work on set that's Detroit natives but I don't think it was as lucrative as they thought it would be by doing that tax reduction thing."
Trice goes on to explain his views on Detroit's "comeback" - "I think it's going to get worse before it improves... I hate to say that... We just got a lot of things in the city that needs to be fixed, man."
Stay tuned for more details...
