After endless news, rumors and promotion for the Jonas Brothers' new album 2013 "V" earlier this summer, the "Pom Poms" band has mostly been focusing on their Jonas Brothers Live Tour since kicking the cross-country trek off on July 10.
However, in an interview with Just Jared Jr., the former Disney stars have spilled a little more information on their fifth studio album, focusing on their own creative control and mature sound on "V."
"I think the biggest difference is this new album is the fact that it started with us and it finishes with us as well as far as how we release it. We are our own label, we're in control of our destiny, and it gives us a lot of freedom on the creative side," said Nick Jonas, who produced the album. "And once we dive into the different sound of the record, I think that a lot of different inspirations over the three and a half, four years that we took off, and we kind of all brought our own inspiration and influences to this, it made it very different."
"V," which has yet to receive an official release date beyond "fall" and "soon," may not follow traditional release protocol, according to Nick, who feels freed from major label pressures. "But also, with how we release it, and what we can do there to have a better connection with the fans. To use this new age to release the music and it's been great so far," he said.
The Jonas Brothers also dished to Just Jared about their favorite songs from the new album, which seems to include frequent tour song "What Do I Mean To You," which both Nick and Joe Jonas cited as a favorite.
The hard-hitting rock song was debuted live at the tour opener on July 10 in Chicago. Mixed with a dab of dubstep, "What Do I Mean To You" is unlike anything else in the JoBros discography.
Nick also cited "Sandbox" as a favorite, like in their June interview with Music Choice. Kevin said "The World" was his favorite.
Besides touring and teasing fans about their new album, the Jonas Brothers recently released a Vegas-themed music video for "First Time."
"V" is due out sometime this fall. Here's what else MStars knows about the highly anticipated comeback album:
