During a recent performance in Sydney, Australia, "The Truth About Love" songstress Pink pulled a fan's gay pride flag up onstage and began proudly dancing around with it. A video of Pink's spur-of-the-moment act soon went viral, prompting some rather rude, homophobic responses. But Pink doesn't care - she considers being called a lesbian a huge "compliment." The Grammy Award winner quickly took to Twitter to confront all the haters... Raven-Symone would be so proud!
While performing her hit song "Trouble," Pink snagged the rainbow flag from an audience member and began twirling it around before drapping it over her body:
Several fans loved the random "pride" act - others, not so much. Following the Saturday night show, Twitter blew-up with anti-gay rants and slurs aimed at the "So What" crooner. Some tweeters derogatorily accusing her of being a lesbian. Of course, Pink didn't take the backlash sitting down. She later tweeted on Sunday (August 4):
@Pink: "Fun fact: when you twitter me and say 'you're a lesbian' it really doesn't bother me at all. It's a compliment. Most of my fav ppl are, so..."
@Pink: "I'm sure all of you hate filled humans can come up with something a little worse than that?!? Come on - be creative. You have 140 characters!"
You go, girl!
FYI - Pink has a daughter with longtime boyfriend Carey Hart.
Former child star Raven-Symone also recently took to Twitter to announce her support of same-sex marriage... she also publically came out as a lesbian. Read more on that here:
