17-year-old YouTube sensation Austin Mahone seemed to be following in the footsteps of Justin Beiber. So much so, that rumors linking Mahone and Bieber's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, were popping up this year as well. Mahone's tour mate Taylor Swift, who wants to keep Gomez away from Beiber, apparently set the two up on a Disneyworld "date." But what else has Swift done for Mahone during his stint as opener on her "Red" tour?
"She always tells me to stay the kid that I was when I was starting out on YouTube," the 17-eary-old singer explained. So Swift has just been being a good friend who is looking out for the newcomer in the music industry.
"She is so great," Mahone gushed. "She's super talented and always puts on a good show. I learned a lot from her. She's so nice. People probably don't know how real and extremely down to earth she is. She's one of the sweetest girls I've ever met."
Okay, great. Taylor is like a big sister to him, but what does he have to say about the Selena Gomez rumors?
"No, no," Austin said, laughing. "We're friends. She's really cool, super sweet."
Mstars recently reported on Austin's rumored relationship with Gomez. Here is an excerpt:

Do not reproduce without permission."It was (Taylor's) idea to push Austin and Selena together because she really likes Austin and thinks he would be a good distraction for Selena right now. She did the same with Ed (Sheeran) and Selena, but so far Selena is keeping it strictly friends with both of them," an insider explained. Both Mahone and Sheeran have opened for Taylor's "Red" Tour recently, so it looks like a pattern might be forming. Swift's openers get set up with her friends, apparently!
"But Taylor is going to keep trying, she loves hooking up her friends and especially Selena, because she wants to see her with anyone but Justin (Bieber)! Selena has a bad habit of taking Justin back again and again so even though she swears it's over for good I'm sure Taylor's a little worried that she'll cave in again," the source added.
