Fans had plenty of issues with X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006, one of which was the film's underuse of Ben Foster as Warren Worthington III aka Angel.

Foster appeared briefly as Angel, who escapes his father's clutches, bursts out of a window and majestically flies away. But that was pretty much it for the character as he did not really factor into the climactic battle at the end.

Some fans have wondered if Angel would appear in Bryan Singer's upcoming superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. With Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Halle Berry (Storm), Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), and Ian McKellen (Magneto) all reprising their roles from The Last Stand, it was not out of the realm of possibilities.

But in an interview to promote his new movie Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Foster seemed to squash the idea.

According to Screen Rant, Foster was asked if he had been asked to play Angel again and he simply said, "No." But when asked if he would want to, Foster jokingly replied:

"Yeah, sure. If they gave me some feathers, I'd jump around, sh*t on some buses."

Foster was obviously joking, but plenty of X-Men fans would want to see Angel appear in the 2014 film. Though with so many characters from The Last Stand and First Class already on the roster, it's likely that Foster's character would again be marginalized.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 23, 2014.
