Who or what is "Larry Shippers?" Thursday evening "#RIPLarryShippers" started trending worldwide and according to the Kansas City Star, it's nothing more than a strange suicide rumor started by One Direction fans. So why would 1D fans start such a rumor? Well according to the Kansas City Star it all started after a British TV station aired a documentary titled "Crazy About One Direction" about 1D fans and how fanatical they can be. This led to fans of the boy band to start a rumor on Twitter that 14 One Direction fans had committed suicide after seeing the documentary. This is just the beginning.

The Kansas City Star reports that after the documentary aired on UK's Channel 4, rumors started popping up that 14 "Larry Shippers" had committed suicide after the documentary.  The number had then risen to 42 after long.

The rumors get stranger as USA Today reports that Larry Shippers isn't one person, but instead, a romance made up between Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson by 1D fans.

One Direction member Liam Payne then took to Twitter to respond the rumors and trending topics. Fans had apparently been upset at how the documentary portrayed them, which led Payne to try and calm then down.

"Hearing some horrible things... Really hope this isn't true," Payne first tweeted. "Just so all of you know we love you guys and we know how dedicated you are and tbh we can't believe it that you guys spend all your time on us."

"We couldn't give a (expletive) what any documentary says," Payne continued. "They're dramatised for entertainment and full of (expletive) anyway. We all know how hard you work for us and see it everyday at our shows." "Let's all take a step back and think about what we/you have all achieved. You should be proud."

In the end it seems "Larry Shippers" is nothing more than a Twitter rumor that got out of hand.
