Blink 182 UPDATE: Pop-Punkers To Release New Album In 2014

Prepare your heartstrings, angsty teens, Blink 182 have a new album coming in 2014. Bassist Mark Hoppus revealed that the band's first album since 2009's Neighborhoods will drop "late spring/early summer" of next year in an interview with Kerrang!.

Via Kerrang!:

"We haven't thought about any new songs yet," said Hoppus, but explained that the band will write the new album when they reconvene in the studio.

"It always happens when the three of us are together in a room," said Hoppus of writing. "Because when [we're not touring], Tom lives in San Diego, Travis lives in Los Angeles and I live in London, so we don't really talk all that much. But then when we get in a room together, it all falls into place and we start making jokes. That's when we start writing songs and reconnecting with everything."

Blink 182 are currently in the middle of a North American tour and Hoppus claims it was just the sort of motivation the band needed to start working together again. Check the dates below:

The as-yet unnamed new album will be Blink 182's first since leaving Interscope Records in 2011.
