Guardians of the Galaxy is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated new Marvel films right behind Avengers: Age of Ultron and the upcoming sequels. Casting rumors and confirmations have been going around and there was even some leaked footage, but what are the official announcements as of late? Marvel head, Kevin Feige recently answered some GotG questions concerning the main villain in the film and we have that news right here!

When asked about the timeline of the film, Feige revealed that it would be set around the same time as the other "Phase Two" movies, which are mostly sequels.

"It's not exactly revealed what year or month it is in relation to the other Phase Two films," he said. "But yes, it's the same time."

When asked how Guardians of the Galaxy would tie in with the other titles like The Avengers, Thor and Captain America, Feige said that there would be more of a conscious effort to draw parralels. Asked how connected it would be, Feige said, "Certainly more than the others. We've already said that Thanos plays a part in it and is a character in it. That in and of itself should tell you it's connected to the other worlds."

As you just read, he mentioned big-time bad-guy Thanos. So is he then main antagonist in the upcoming film?

"Ronan The Accuser is very much the main bad guy," Feige said. "And Thanos is lurking above it all. You will learn more about Thanos in Guardians, for sure. Certainly you'll get more than the one turn around and smirk. You'll get much more than that!"

So actor Lee Pace will be playing the main bad-guy in the upcoming film. Benicio Del Toro was cast as The Collector, but it looks like that role will play a smaller part than Ronan. Thanos has yet to be cast.

Speaking of casting roles for Guardians of the Galaxy, rumors have been spreading about Bradley Cooper being cast as Rocket Raccoon in this new Marvel film.

When Gunn was asked about casting the character last month, he responded:

"I think there's - here's the thing: there are a lot of people who have a lot of ideas of who is right for Rocket Raccoon. Rocket Raccoon has been slightly different over the years, in the comic books, and within my scripts he is a very, very specific guy, and I think people are going to have to wait for a few weeks before they see."

He added: "We'll have to wait for a few weeks to see. We'll get our dream guy, because a lot of people want to do it, so we'll get the person who's perfect for the role."

It has been about a month since he said the announcement was coming soon, so maybe with this news about Cooper being cast spreading, he'll officially announce it much sooner.

Do you think Cooper will make for a good Rocket Raccoon? Perhaps you had someone else in mind for the role? Let us know your opinion in the comments section.
