During the 2013 MTV VMAs, "Best Song Ever" crooners One Direction won the award for "Song of the Summer." Apparently during 1D's acceptance speech, several members of the audience began booing - and "Applause" songstress Lady Gaga was NOT happy about it. After Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson walked backstage, Mother Monster approached them to offer some support and advice. And the entire conversation was caught on one of MTV's live cams. Check it out below!

First, here's the boys of One Direction happily accepting their Moon Man:

Can Mstars readers hear the sporadic "booing" in the background? Well, Lady Gaga sure did.

Gaga's opening performance featured deliberate FAKE booing, but she was not amused when she heard actual boos from the audience during 1D's acceptance.

In backstage footage captured after 1D's speech, Gaga can be heard telling the boys, “I want to leave right now. I don’t want to stay anymore because I don’t want to be in a room where people are booing. I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have.”

What do fans think of Mother Monster sticking up for the "What Makes You Beautiful" songsters?
