Reports "confirm" that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are currently "taking a break" from their marriage. Sources claim that neither A-List celeb has filed for divorce, but a perminant separation isn't totally out of the question. The couple (who've been married since 2010) has not been photographed together since late April.
People reports:
They've walked red carpets solo, vacationed separately with their kids, and in recent days, Douglas has been relaxing on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia - with Zeta-Jones at home in New York.
In People's upcoming cover story, two insiders talk about the Hollywood power couple's staggering relationship. One source reveals, "They're taking a break."
Douglas and Zeta-Jones have been through a lot of ups-and-downs over the years (with Douglas' battle with cancer in 2010 and Zeta-Jones' ongoing struggle with Bipolar Disorder). Another family friends tells the popular gossip mag, "The stress has taken a toll on their marriage."
Apparently after Douglas attended the Cannes Film Festival in May, the duo decided to spend some time apart to figure things out. Zeta-Jones had recently underwent another round of treatment to monitor her bipolar disorder.
Insiders close to the couple hope that they can work things out as a family - "They want the best for their kids, no matter what happens."
Douglas (68) and Zeta-Jones (43) have two children together - Dylan (13) and Carys (10). They tied the knot in a lavish Manhattan wedding ceremony in November 2000.
