In a move that would kick the hornet's nest of Internet fanboy rage to the godd*mn moon, Justin Timberelake has expressed interest in playing The Riddler alongside Ben Affleck's Batman. The 20/20 Experience singer revealed his desire to play the maligned Edward Nigma, who was last portrayed on the big screen by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever.
On the Jim & Kim radio show, the former NSYNC member explained that he's always wanted to play the tormented, dying-to-be-caught questioner:
"Now villain. I'll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain... The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I'm wanna play proper crazy... I'm ready. The Riddler. Gimme a call," Timberlake said.
This is causing the sort of reaction you'd expect after the web went nuclear over Batfleck. However, Justin Timberlake is actually a fairly credible actor who has tended to be the highlight of the films he has appeared in. That being said, I feel casting him as the Riddler has to be weighed against the number of Comic Book Store Guy aneurysms it is bound to cause.
