We are all most likely familiar with the controversial song "Control," which features a brutal verse from Kendrick Lamar. The young rapper disses plenty of other young hip hop artists including the other two rappers featured on the track, Big Sean and Jay Electronica. The song will actually appear on Big Sean's upcoming record but Jay Electronica apparently wanted the song for his new album (which could be called Act II: Patents of Nobility (the Turn))
"When [Big Sean] told me it wasn't on his album, I was gonna use it for my album. And then he told me the day before it came out that, 'Yo, Kendrick put a verse on it, we gonna put it out,'" the young Roc Nation rapper explained.
"But it's a good thing," he added right before giving shout out to fellow rappers Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and Joey Bada$. "It's a good thing for hip-hop music because hip-hop has been laying dormant for a long time."
So it looks like Jay Electronica is not bitter about losing one of the more controversial songs to Big Sean's new record. Check out the interview right here.
Jay released a tracklist last year for his upcoming album. If it holds true, the record would feature guest performances from ay Z, Kanye West, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and others.
