It's been over a week, and Miley Cyrus' controversial "Blurred Lines" performance at the 2013 VMAs is STILL going viral! And according to the "We Can't Stop" twerk queen, all of the negative attention doesn't matter. The 20-year-old songstress set out "to make history," and that's exactly what she did - whether viewers enjoyed it or not.
Here's what Cyrus had to say in her FIRSt post-VMAs interview with MTV:
"I don't pay attention to the negative, because I've seen this play out so many times... How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?" She goes on to explain, “Madonna’s done it. Britney’s done it. Every VMA performance, anyone that performs, that’s what you’re looking for, you’re wanting to make history... Me and Robin the whole time said, ‘You know we’re about to make history right now.’”
As for all the haters... they're just making a big deal out of nothing: "What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it. They're over-thinking it. You're thinking about it more than I was thinking about it when I did it."
