Miley Cyrus' racy performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards garnered plenty of criticism, but she has maintained some support from her fellow artists. That said, the boys of One Direction recently revealed their opinions concerning the twerking trend that climaxed with Miley performance last month. What's weird, though, is that Harry Styles decided to throw Miley under the bus, so to say, in a new interview but he previously supported her performance.

The boy bands documentary concert movie One Direction: This Is Us, debuted in the United States the night after the Video Music Awards, so the members got a chance to talk about Miley.

Harry originally said: "She's quite shy and I think it's time she came out of her shell. [It was] family friendly. You could watch it with your kids and your grandma."

But a lot has changed in the mind of Harry Styles it seems, because just about a week after that statement he said:

"I think it's quite inappropriate. Especially for the age group that it's aimed at. I think it's, you know, promoting promiscuity."

The other boys simply poked fun at the performance, with Liam Payne even calling it "cute."

Niall Horan said: "I don't get why everyone is sulking about her."

Louis Tomlinson added: "I was shocked at how much coverage it got and I think she was shocked. I don't think she even knew she'd get that much attention from it."

Liam eventually describes the dance craze as "overly sexual," which might have been the trigger for Harry's change of heart.

Check out the boys answering some questions and talking about twerking in the video below!
