In One Direction's new documentary concert film directed by Morgan Spurlock, One Direction: This Is Us, the boys' girlfriends were not featured. In fact, some media outlets have insinuated that the lovely girlfriends of Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik (Liam Payne started dating Sophia Smith after filming had wrapped) were edited out of the film. This rumor led to another rumor that Zayn's recent engagement to Perrie Edwards might already be in trouble after she was not featured in the film. Luckily, Louis Tomlinson cleared all of this gossip up at a recent press junction for the film!
During this Q&A session, one interviewer congratulated Zayn on his recent engagement, but asked about Perrie's absence from the film.
"Where is that girl, we never see her," she asked.
Zayn shot back: "I see her a lot and that's obviously privately between me and her. Yeah we just got engaged and I'm really happy and that's about as much as I have to say about that."
Then Louis decided to share his opinion on the news that his girlfriend Eleanor Calder along with Zayn's fiancée were edited out of One Direction: This Is Up.
"As far as our girlfriends being edited out, that's actually not true," Tomlinson said, clearing up the gossip. "When we have our free time, when we had a week at home or whatever the cameras wouldn't be with us then."
In other words: lay off about the girlfriends! Check out Louis, Zayn and Liam discussing their new movie, relationships and charity in this footage from the press junction:
Though Liam Payne didn't talk much during this interview about his girlfriend, the 20-year-old knows very well how his fame can affect his romances. Currently, he is dating his old school mate Sophia Smith and she has been dealing with the wrath of the Directioners. Check out one of her recent Tweets:
Please reevaluate what you write to me before you send it because I'm also a human and you don't know me personally. You have no right. xx
