Pearl Jam have gone a little bit country, counter-balancing the punk chaos of "Mind Your Manners" with a Yield-esque ballad called "Sirens." The second single from their new album Lightning Bolt veers closer to the Eddie Vedder we've seen in recent years and puts to bed the idea of a searing "f**k you" of an album from the aging alt-rockers.
Check out "Sirens" over at Rdio.
Venturing a guess based on the tracklist for the new album, Lightning Bolt will be a pretty even mixture of charged, intense rockers (Getaway, Lightning Bolt, Infallible, Future Days) and slow-going, acoustic strummers (My Father's Son, Swallowed Whole, Sleeping By Myself, Yellow Moon).
Lightning Bolt Tracklist:
01. Getaway
02. Mind Your Manners
03. My Father's Son
04. Sirens
05. Lightning Bolt
06. Infallible
07. Pendulum
08. Swallowed Whole
09. Let The Records Play
10. Sleeping By Myself
11. Yellow Moon
12. Future Days
What do you think of "Sirens," the latest from Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt (which drops October 15 via Republic)?
