Katy Perry 'Roar,' Sara Bareilles 'Brave' Mashup: Singers Joke About Combining Similar Pop Hits

As we've mentioned before, Sara Bareilles and Katy Perry are fully aware of the similarities between their recent respective singles "Brave" and "Roar." Many Sara B stans are bashing Katy Perry for what they view as outright hackery, but Sara herself is fine with Perry's similar Prism track (especially since its release brought a spike in sales of "Brave"). The duo are so cool about it, in fact, that they've joked about making a mashup between the two songs.

"We actually talked about it. We're like, 'Should we just work on a mashup and let everybody know we're not mad at each other?'" Bareilles said in an interview with the Associated Press.

The real question is: Would a "Brave"/"Roar" mashup even sound like a new song?
