Selena Gomez, George Shelley Dating Rumors [VIDEO]: Justin Bieber's 'Stars Dance' Ex-Girlfriend NOT Romantically Involved w/ Union J Singer Says J.J. Hamblett

The rumors about Selena Gomez dating George Shelley of the "X-Factor" boy band Union J definitely heated up this month when a source said the two spent the night together in a Portugal hotel room. Unfortunately Shelley's bandmate, J.J. Hamblett, is claiming that the pop stars are simply friends, despite the steamy rumors!

J.J. said: "They are just friends. It's not our place to discuss but they are friends and, obviously, George will say what he wants to say about the situation."

"She didn't get off stage until quite late," Hamblett continued. "So we just went and she invited us all back to her hotel and we had a drink."

J.J.'s statement backs up the original rumor about hanging out in Gomez's hotel room, but dismisses the hook up allegations.

"She invited all the Union J boys and some other members of her entourage to her room and they had a great time drinking and dancing," the original source explained, starting the gossip train. "Selena and George were all over each other and things got very heated. Everyone else left at 2 a.m. so they were able to spend the night together."

The insider added: "Nobody was annoyed with George. After all, he's been pursued by one of the biggest pop stars in the world - it's any lad's dream come true."

Rumors about these two young singers dating started earlier this year when each of them admitted to having a crush on the other. Selena even sent George a special, flirty message on a British talk show.

Meanwhile, Gomez recently admitted to being a hopeless romantic in a new interview.

"I'm a hopeless romantic," she admitted. "I'm very weak and I fall apart when I need to be."
