19-year-old Saoirse Ronan was one of the actresses rumored to have gone in and read for a role in the upcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode VII. Now the young Hannah star has confirmed these rumors, saying that she did in fact audition for a role in the upcoming J.J. Abrams film.
When Ronan admitted to the audition, she brushed it off saying, "so has everyone." The actress refused to reveal any more information concerning the audition, saying her agents would "chop off her head with a lightsaber" if she spoke about it.
Are you excited to see if Saoirse gets a role in the upcoming film series? Perhaps the rumors of her portraying a Sith character are true and we get to see her Dark Side?
Another rumor has also popped up, throwing a new name into the casting pool. Sullivan Stapleton has reportedly also auditioned for a role in Episode VII. The star of the Cinemax show Strike Back and the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire film, Stapleton definitely has a more "buff" look that could easily be used in the sci-fi franchise.
Do you think Sullivan Stapleton will end up getting a role in Episode VII?
In other Star Wars casting news, Queens of the Stone Age lead singer Josh Homme recently "auditioned" for a role in the upcoming films. In the video below, Homme reveals his passion for the film franchise and describes what he can bring to the new movies. In fact, the rocker only wants one part: "The King of Droids." He means R2D2, but considering he was probably just riffing on some funny ideas, we'll absolutely accept it.
